About
This is for people
who've been trying.
Someone with $10,000 deserves the same quality of financial guidance as someone with $10,000,000. We built the tool that makes that possible.
Why we built this
Financial advice in Canada feels a bit broken.
If you have money, advice usually finds you. If you don't, you're mostly on your own. You might still pay high fees for advice that doesn't actually help. That never felt right to us.
Someone with $10,000 deserves the same guidance as someone with $10,000,000.
We built this because we believe every Canadian should have access to high-quality planning for their finances.
People aren't confused because they can't understand. They're confused because it hasn't been explained clearly.
When someone sees their plan in plain English, they get it. Many advisors often make finances more confusing than they have to be, so you feel like you should keep paying them.
We believe that if you bring the right information together and look at it honestly, you can get very close to the right answer for someone. Not a guess. Not a sales pitch. A clear path forward and help to get you there.
Financial security changes how people live. It lowers stress. It creates breathing room. We built this for people who've been trying. Who should be able to lie in bed at night and think: we're going to be okay.
Our beliefs
A few things we think are true
about financial advice in Canada.
The team
Who we are.
You should know how we make money.
Your Pocket Advisor makes money through subscriptions. That's it.
No referral fees. No fund companies. No data sales. Your subscription is our only revenue. Aligned incentives matter.
We win when you find genuine value, not when we steer you toward a product. When we say your fees are too high, we're not risking a relationship. We're just telling you what we see.
Transparency
What we are. What we're not.
Your Pocket Advisor is a tool that helps you build a plan for your finances, not a licensed advisor, portfolio manager, or planning firm. Our guidance is educational and doesn't constitute personalized financial advice under Canadian law.
For complex situations (significant business income, estate planning, large portfolios), work with a fee-only CFP alongside this tool.
Planning tools and qualified advisors should coexist. We're the foundation of your clarity, not the ceiling.
