Getting Started
A tool that builds a plan for your finances, built for Canadians. Enter your numbers, get a personalized Financial Game Plan: where you stand, your biggest opportunity, and the moves that matter most. Not a budgeting app or robo-advisor.
Your Pocket Advisor does three things:
- ✓We make money stuff simple and sort out the complexity of your finances.
- ✓We tell you how to make the best decisions you can make with your money.
- ✓We help you actually do the work to stay on track through the years as your life changes.
Built for Canadians who earn well, save something, and still aren't sure if they're on track. If you have an RRSP, a TFSA, maybe a mortgage, but no real plan, this is for you.
About an hour. You'll answer questions about income, savings, accounts, debts, and goals. We walk you through every step.
No. You just need rough numbers: balances, income, debts. We walk you through every step and explain everything in plain English. No finance background needed.
The Financial Game Plan
Five sections: Financial Snapshot (net worth, cash flow, savings rate), Retirement Outlook, Financial Health Score (out of 100), Top Actions (ranked by dollar impact), and Hidden Opportunities (unused benefits, fee drag, tax room). One page. Built for immediate understanding. Paid plans also include execution support: step-by-step guidance on each action, monthly check-ins, and a plan that adapts as your life changes.
As accurate as your inputs allow. We use current CPP and OAS rates, actual provincial tax brackets, realistic market assumptions, and your real balances. Every assumption is shown. Projections are estimates, not guarantees. We give an honest, well-grounded trajectory.
A score out of 100 across five dimensions: savings rate, investment fees, debt management, tax efficiency, and diversification. Less a grade, more a diagnostic. Shows strengths and gaps. Most people score 55–80 initially.
Yes, on any paid plan. Free users get a one-time snapshot. Paid members can refresh anytime: when income changes, savings grow, or goals shift. Monthly check-ins help keep things current automatically.
Your Data & Privacy
We ask you to enter your financial information directly. We don't sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. Everything you share is used only to build your plan.

Pricing & Plans
Free gives you a clear diagnosis: your Financial Health Score, Retirement Outlook, your biggest financial risks, and your biggest opportunities, all in plain English. It's a snapshot, not a plan. Paid turns that snapshot into a step-by-step action plan, ranked by dollar impact, with execution support, monthly check-ins, scenario modelling, and a plan that updates as your life changes. See our Pricing page for the full breakdown.
We have three tiers based on when you join. The first 100 members get full access free, forever. Members 101 to 1,000 lock in at $99/year, permanently. After 1,000 members, standard pricing is $199/year. Your rate locks in the moment you upgrade and never goes up, regardless of what pricing does later.
Yes. If you cancel within 14 days of upgrading to a paid plan, you'll receive a full refund. No questions asked.
Yes. Cancel from account settings in one click. No fees, no calls, no retention loops. Monthly plans: keep access until billing period ends. Annual: until your year is up.
Yes. You'll get a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of upgrading. No credit card is required to use the free tier.
Your Situation
We handle common situations: employment income, self-employment, RRSPs, TFSAs, non-registered accounts, mortgages, pensions, personal debts. For significant corporate income, complex estates, or multiple properties, we give you a useful picture but recommend a fee-only CFP alongside.
The app accounts for self-employment income. You'll answer about business income, corporate structure, and registered contributions. Plan includes relevant tax efficiency notes for self-employed Canadians.
Joint household planning (combining two incomes, shared assets, and shared goals) is handled in onboarding. Model your household as a unit. Separate-account tracking for each spouse within a shared plan is on our roadmap.
Yes. We account for provincial tax brackets across all provinces and territories. CPP and OAS, TFSA and RRSP rules, and federal tax apply nationally. Quebec's QPP is accounted for.
About the Advice
We're a tool that builds a plan for your finances, not a licensed advisor. Our guidance is educational and doesn't constitute personalized financial advice under Canadian law. Recommendations are based on your inputs, publicly available Canadian rules, and reasonable assumptions. For complex situations (insurance, estates, significant corporate income), use Your Pocket Advisor alongside a fee-only CFP.
Advisors bring professional judgment and regulatory accountability. We bring speed, transparency, and zero sales incentive. Our analytical process is built on the CFP curriculum, the same framework used by Canada's Certified Financial Planners, so the methodology is rigorous even if we're not a licensed firm. Many Canadians use both: Your Pocket Advisor for clarity and ongoing tracking, and a fee-only CFP for complex decisions.
Bank tools show scenarios within bank products. They won't tell you your fees are too high or that you should move elsewhere. We have nothing to sell and no relationships to protect, so honest assessment is actually possible.
Wealthsimple manages investments. We help you understand your entire financial picture and make better decisions across all of it, including whether your investment setup is optimal. Different problems. Some users use Wealthsimple and Your Pocket Advisor together.
